A Can of Nothing

We went to the Hannaford for the Manager's Special to put on the grill today (I am out of pork ribs), and this was beside the checkout at the desk.

These empty tin banks cost $2.99, which is donated to the Vermont Foodbank.  I was thrilled that it will give Dan a place to put his change (instead of letting it go through the washer and dryer).   Once full, it gets returned to the store as an additional donation.

We always lament that the food boxes Hannaford sponsors are only for the holidays.  For us, buying those has more meaning than making a monetary donation; I think it's because having something physical carries more personal meaning for us than writing a check.  These banks fit the bill!
