Our milking parlor

This parlor is a "milk from behind" "double-eight" that milks 16 cows at a time. One hundred and twenty cows can be milked by one person in less than two hours. It features "automatic take-offs" that sense when a cow is done milking and detach, returning to a neutral position away from the cow. They still have to be put on by hand though, and this is Dan's job and workplace, twice each day. See the glass jars under the shelf where the cows are standing? This gauges how much milk each cows gives before it is sent to be cooled in the bulk tank. The most I've ever seen is 60 pounds at a time.
