Monday Menu: Simply Scallops


Scallops cook quickly, in order to get some color on them, I usually make a quick marinade.


Fish sauce, squeeze of lemon and lime, sesame oil, and the secret ingredient: maple syrup.  Not a lot of syrup, but it is key to browning the scallops.



Just a minute or two on each side, and the scallops are glazed and finished!  Don't look too closely at what's underneath, those are canned peas from the pantry along with some caramelized onions.  We didn't get to go to the farmer's market this weekend, so I am all out of fresh vegetables.
