(Steamed salmon in rice wrappers with chili oil and fish sauce.)
This was one of those nights when the planned dish failed, and I had to come up with something really quick for dinner.
I cut a boneless, skinless, salmon filet into two-bite portions and wrapped them in small spring roll skins. Add some cabbage - ten minutes in the steamer - and there's a healthy meal.
Here's a photo of the epic fail. I had another dim sum craving, so I was trying to make a wheatless version of Jing Char Siu Bau (steamed pork buns) with a prepared wheat-free flour mix (Bob's). The flavor was overwhelmingly sorghum(y) - and sweet like a cookie - a cookie dunked in pork barbecue sauce. Terrible, terrible.
