We don't usually name animals, but this rooster is called "Buttercup" because that is the name of his breed. He's really fast, pretty, and very territorial. We are going to loan him out in the spring to a hobbyist who wants to try and hatch out some baby chicks.
He kept himself between the hens and myself the whole time. This is low-light photography and he moves way too fast for my camera, but I think you can see that his comb is basin-shaped and fringed.
