Wheatless: Glutino shells, pizza perfection

This was a quick meal: no mixing, pre-baking, or pre-cooking of ingredients (except for the mushrooms and shallots, which were left-over from another cook).

I liked that the shells were individually wrapped; I hate it when bready things freeze together solid.

They look like frozen pitas.

To put them to the test, I really overloaded them with toppings: canned red sauce, the previously sauteed mushrooms and shallots, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and uncooked sausage.

I let them cook for 22 minutes at 400f, until the sausage was cooked through. The crust was crispy and browned; the sauce did not make it mushy - and it was not doughy, spongy, sweet or labor intensive - faults found with many other brands. I will definitely buy these again - but I have to wait to travel to Healthy Living in South Burlington to get them!

* They don't reheat in the microwave very well, so only make what you can eat at the time.
