Out back of the barns

Dan planted some pumpkins next to the compost heap out back of the barns, and wanted to show me where they were.  This is the view on the way. Can you see that cow? That's not right.

Either she or one of her herdmates had licked the lock and opened the pen in the freestall barn. She quickly went back in where she belonged.

Here's one of the compost hills with the pumpkin seed packet stuck into the ground.  Not much action here, yet - we are hoping for mutant super-pumpkins.

Also out back is the wood that will provide the domestic hot water for two homes this winter, as well as heating the milking parlor floor and a walkway that the cows use to get from the barn to the parlor.  That's not all that's out back, but all that I can get to, today.
