Burlington Farmer's Market #12: High Summer

It was hot and there were lots of tourists this week.  I'm not sure what the event-of-the-day was called, but there was a Pride Parade on Church Street.  Pride-fest?  We are nearing the half-way mark of farmer's market season, and there are loads of fruits, flowers, and canned goods for sale.

Cutest doggie of the day!

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

Jason made quiche, Dan eats donuts, old-fashioned flowers, new products, new signs, sweet treats and real barbecue from Sonny Orsini's stand.   Jake Collins says Sonny's smokey macaroni cheese is the best!

I'd be remiss if I let this one go - it just irritates me so.  The owner of this large pit-bull/mastiff was asked to put it on a leash, and he did, but refused to hold the lead and let it wander freely around vendors stands.  This kind of immature pissing match confrontational attitude is not welcome, and there is a leash law which all other dog-owners respect.   It is a public space, but the farmer's market leases it from the city and it is our responsibility to make it safe for everyone.   Shall we call the police?  Or the Park Patrol, next time?

See you at market. ((makes "I'm watching (you)" gesture))
