Wheatless: Quinoa

I never had this until a few months ago. It kinda looks like couscous, but that is really quinoa (keen-wah) with some leftovers.

What is quinoa?  They are edible suction-cup-shaped seeds that have a faintly earthy, clean flavor.

Dan asked me twice if this was rice, but it is much lighter and more fluffy.  I cooked it in the rice cooker on the "white rice" setting after rinsing it in water really well.

It is a bit difficult to eat unless it is mixed with something else, like sticky rice, because the pieces fall between fork tines.  I've added it into the "rotation" along with lentils, beans, rice, and pasta.
